Mountain Man Meat Market

Looking to eat in, check out the local butcher shop and specialty grocer, Mountain Man Meat Market. They carry premium cuts of beef, pork, chicken and sausage (get the alligator). They also have everyday items (including organic options) and homemade meals to go.

Mountain Man Meat Market is located on Hwy 259, just south of the southern 259A entrance to Bear Trap. Call ahead and order some food before you get to town.

The Hochahut

It is well known (by Texans) that Carl and Neil Fletcher invented the corn dog. Served at the State Fair of Texas, Fletcher’s Corny Dogs were our undisputed favorite… until we found the Hochahut.

Located right off Hwy 259 in the heart of Hochatown, the Hochahut serves carnival-style food, including the Big Daddy Corn Dog. They are open year around, play great music and have a chill outdoor seating area.
